From our experts
1. Choose a suitable platform
There are lots of free blog platforms out there for you to build your blog – such as WordPress, Tumblr and Blogger. We personally prefer WordPress as the easiest to use, but it is entirely up to your personal preference. It’s easy to get started, as all platforms offer free design themes for you to customise, and if you get stuck, there’s always a Youtube tutorial lying around to help you out.
2. Offer Value
Your creative blog needs to provide something the public wants to be a success. It needs to offer information, education, stimulation. If your content isn’t valuable, it’s unlikely people will return back to your blog page. Make sure you really think about what you are publishing in each post.
3. Consider Your SEO Integration
It is important to make sure that your blog is integrated with your existing website in terms of SEO. This will enhance your website’s SEO majorly as you build relevant content and climb the search engine’s rankings. If you are not able to do this, our web developers will be able to set this up for you, and our content writers are able to produce content as part of our blog management packages.
4. Use Marketing Avenues
You need to actively market your blog. You can use different marketing avenues to bring people to your site – promote it across different platforms, also make sure that you write about topics that are popular searches on search engines. By integrating our online marketing packages, we can spread the word about your blog through our email marketing and social media outlets.
Images can really boost your blogs. People like to scroll along the page quickly, and are often drawn into an article as the image as breaks up the text and add visual interest. Including at least one image into your blog is essential for success.
6. Keep it Simple
Quick, easy reads make the best blog articles, so use structures that keep it simple – like this one. Lists are proven to work as research shows that people view and scan web pages rather than read it all word-for-word, keeping it as a list gives people a good, clear summary of what is being discussed.
7. Stay Regular
Blogs need to be regular for success to be seen. Try to keep your blog updated as frequently as you can – you are able to schedule posts in advance if you are busy. If you are aware you need a blog but don’t know where to start, we can help you out.
8. Don’t Forget to Spell Check!
Make sure you always remember to proofread and spell check your article. Bad spelling will affect your SEO as search engines are able to pick up on mistakes. It would also ruin your credibility. Check everything before your post goes live!
