We are proud to provide Social Media Management to many of our loyal clients, but there is one that we’d love to work with more than usual…
It has been reported that the Queen
– yes, her majesty Elizabeth herself, is seeking a Social Media Manager.
HRH is looking to hire a digital expert to improve her online presence, with the offering of a cool £50,000 per annum. This is to make sure that the Queen is reaching her fans online through social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
Buckingham Palace has officially named the position the ‘Digital Head of Engagement’, and the lucky employee will join a team of digital specialists with the job of “maintaining the Queen’s presence in the public eye and on the world stage”.
The official job advert for a Social Media Manager reads:
“It’s knowing your content will be viewed by millions.
It’s about never standing still and finding new ways to maintain The Queen’s presence in the public eye and on the world stage. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional.
The role of Royal Communications is to engage a worldwide audience with the public role and work of The Royal Family.
Joining this fast-paced and dynamic team, your challenge will be to lead on and develop our digital communications strategy, and ensure that we make effective use of a range of digital platforms to support these aims”

This comes as the Queen and Prince Harry released a video in response to President Obama, titled “Boom” which has become an online sensation. She’s doing a great job of proving to us that you are never too old or too regal to join in with technology.
This goes to show that online presence is important for everybody – no matter what your rank or – ahem – monarchy. If you think you’d benefit from our Social Media Management packages – just get in touch on 01206 588000 or email us at sales@universalwebdesign.co.uk.
