What is Page Authority?

by | Apr 18, 2023 | SEO

Page Authority (PA) is a metric developed by Moz, a leading SEO software company, that predicts how well a specific page on a website is likely to rank on search engine results pages (SERPs). PA is measured on a scale from 1 to 100, with higher scores indicating a higher likelihood of ranking well in search results.

Page Authority is calculated based on multiple factors, including the number and quality of backlinks pointing to a specific page, the overall authority and credibility of the website, and other SEO factors such as the content quality, on-page optimization, and user experience of the page. Essentially, it provides an estimate of the relative strength and authority of a specific page compared to other pages on the internet.

It’s important to note that Page Authority is a relative measure and should be used as a comparative tool to assess the authority of one page in relation to others. It is not an absolute measure of how well a page will rank on search engines, and search engines like Google use their own algorithms and ranking factors to determine search results. However, Page Authority can be a useful metric for SEO practitioners to assess the potential ranking strength of a specific page and make data-driven decisions to improve its performance in search engine rankings.
