Are you a new business? Searching for a website? And need some tips and tricks? We got you!

Over the years there have been many myths surrounding the Web design world, and as an award-winning Web design company we are here to debunk them.

In today’s blog, we will be listing the 5 most popular myths surrounding websites, and debunking them!

Myth  1: After the website is launched, you will never have to think of it again!

This is completely untrue! Building a website is a difficult and delicate process in itself and one completed needs to be maintained.

A website requires monitoring and maintenance, at a minimum. Google and other search engines constantly change and update, so it is crucial you have a web design team monitoring and updating your website accordingly.

Hen you are launching new products or services you will need someone to update your website, add all the correct information and make sure your customers are alerted.

Furthermore, once the website is launched you need to make sure you build traffic to your website. This is done by understanding how the internet, browsers and search engines work.

So long story short, building and maintaining a website is not easy, but definitely worth it!

Myth 2: Less is more

It is common to think that minimalism is king when it comes to websites, but for newer businesses, this could not be further that the truth.

Big brands like Apple, Zara and Uniqlo can afford to have a very minimalistic website as they are already established and very well known. Their websites to dot need a lot of text and information as the public already knows a lot about them.

When you are a newer business and trying to establish your audience and traffic, text and information about your company are a must!

This does not mean your website cannot look sleek, but the more information, the better!

Myth 3: Only focus on the homepage

Don’t get us wrong, the home page is still extremely important, but don’t focus all your energy on only this one specific page.

Recently statistics have shown that homepage views are decreasing, and many other pages on your website are actually driving traffic.

When someone types something into google, the result will automatically take them to the most relevant page, and most times, this will not be your home page.

It is important to make sure every page on your website has relevant information and is appealing to your customers.

Myth 4: A new and complete website will drive traffic straight away.

We wish it was this easy! But unfortunately, you’re going to need more than a pretty website. A new design or website will not grow traffic on its own.

Being well-designed and functioning correctly is certainly a step in the right direction, but here are a few things which could really help boost your new website!

A good and consistent SEO strategy will help your website rank at the top of Google, therefore beating your competitors, and getting more leads!

PPC can really help you gain notoriety by pushing your ADS right at the top of the page, and the best thing is, you only pay when someone clicks on it!

Myth 5: You do not need social media buttons on your website

In 2023 Social media is bigger and more influential than ever. Most people will go on a business’s social media platforms to see their products, reviews and response from the general public.

Implementing these buttons will help your business gain notoriety and a social media following.

So make sure you do not forget to add these small but essential buttons on your new website!
